Here you can see the Hakkodamaru ferry together with a bunch of vending
machines. This is one of the predecessors of the ferry that we used to
come to Aomori. Back when the Seikan tunnel between Hokkaido and Honshu
wasn't built yet, this ferry was used not only to transport passengers
between the islands, but trains as well. It is a museum ship, so you can
go on board and look at the trains inside it.
この自販機の背景にあるフェリーは八甲田丸だ。前日に乗ったフェリーの元祖で、青函トンネルできた前に北海道と本州の間で運航していた。その時は人だけじゃなくて、電車も運んでいた。今は博物館になったから、中に入って、中にある電車も見られる。
